But God’s not finished. He’s waiting around to be gracious to you.
He’s gathering strength to show mercy to you.
God takes the time to do everything right—everything.
Those who wait around for him are the lucky ones. Isaiah 30:18
We are mid-way through remodeling our kitchen at home. For the last few weeks, we have been refinishing cupboards and painting walls. With a project like this, I’m learning how essential it is that I stay flexible and willing to adapt to the chaos during the process.
This morning, I found myself wanting to clean things up, so we could get things back in order…I like order.
But I think God wants to reveal something deeper to me with all of this. I wonder how often I rush through things just because I’m not able to handle the quality work that God is trying to get me to put into something? If I were honest, I would say it happens more often than not.
My prayer for me this year is that God would teach me how to find all of the beauty in the chaos. And that every project I put my hand to would be a project that I put the hard work, time and labor into as well
There will always be unfinished work in my life and the faster I come to terms with this, the faster I’ll learn to look for the beauty along the way.
The good news is that once the hard work is complete, the benefits out way any discomfort on the journey.
