A few weeks ago I went to a women’s event. I didn’t sleep well the night before I because I knew it was going to be a really powerful time. A couple thousand women gathered together in one room lifting up the name of Jesus. C’mon! Being able to be taught, led in worship, and inspired by leaders like Christine Caine, Lisa Harper, Shelley Giglio, Jenn Johnson, Jackie Hill-Perry, and Nona Jones, While I sipped on my coffee and spent time with Jesus before making the 45-minute adventure that day, I whispered these words…
Papa, please don’t let me come home the same. I want You to use this day to mark me. Will you do that?
The words that came through loud and clear for me on that day was how important it is for me to allow my brokenness to be used as a ministry. Over and over God confirmed to me that there can be no place for shame with my story and that in order for God to get the Glory for the things I want to keep quiet, I must be willing to walk by faith.
They weren’t new words to me, but they were the words I needed to hear in order to step forward with what I feel God has been pricking my heart with for many years.
My journey with divorce has been incredibly painful for many reasons and I know that I am not alone with this pain.
The more research I’ve done about this topic, the more upset I get with the enemy and the more determined I become to be a voice who stands up against it.
God is leading me to start a support group up this January for women who are in transition with divorce. We all need each other and we need to be armed with truth to combat the epidemic of divorce that is sweeping through our churches, cities, states, nation, and world.
